It is incredibly helpful when you have a checklist or something you can visually look at when it comes to what you want to get done throughout your day. But it’s also important to be realistic and not overwhelm yourself with a giant to-do list. Pick a handful of activities that are of interest to you that you believe will improve your mood, and therefore your well-being. These can be things that you do in the morning, afternoon, evening, or even throughout your day.
What’s important here is that you do at least one thing every single day that you know, without a doubt, impacts your health in a positive way. And being able to track this is sort of fun, and definitely encouraging. When you see yourself checking off something from your checklist, it’s a visual representation of what you are doing for yourself. Seeing all the checkmarks is just one way to see how much you are investing in your well-being. And the more things you check off, the more satisfied you become with yourself, AKA a person who cultivates time out of their day to pour into themselves because ultimately that’s what matters. How you feel about yourself and what you do throughout your day-to-day to keep those feelings elevated is the most important thing.
So start with a handful of things, whether it’s for your spiritual or physical well-being, WHATEVER, and take note of how often you are completing these things. And don’t forget to be excited about this! This is not something that should feel like a task, but rather, something you are grateful for and enjoy doing. Investing in your well-being should not feel like a chore, and if does, it’s important to think about what you want and what your “why” is.
