Having Self Love Impacts Your Well-Being
On this site, “health and wellness” and “well-being” pretty much means anything and everything. Often times, we think of this phrase as something that has to do with our physical or mental health and what we consume. This site will acknowledge why it’s beneficial to move your body and put nutritious foods into your system, however, it will also largely focus on other aspects of life that can impact your wellbeing, particularly, self-love, self-respect, and self-worth.
Here, we will talk about things like why it’s important to have and build your self-respect. What does self-respect have to do with wellness? Well, respecting yourself goes hand-in-hand with how you show up for yourself, your body, and life in general. Additionally, self-respect enables you to determine what, and who, is worth pursuing or keeping in your life. When you have self-respect, you know how to exercise healthy boundaries when it comes to the people in your life. Which in turn, impacts your health and wellness. When you have self-respect, you put yourself and your needs first, which again, impacts who you are and the quality of your life.
Self love is another big topic. Your level of self-love impacts your well-being. If you do not love yourself, you likely have a difficult time making decisions that are guided in your best interest. I know that may be a hard pill to swallow and a wake up call for some of you, but the good thing is, anyone can learn how to love themselves.
Self love impacts your health and wellness because it is the driving factor for how you live your day to day. When you love yourself, you care about how you treat yourself. You care about treating yourself with kindness and filling your own cup. You realize that only you can control your actions and with that, you choose to pour into yourself.
Health and wellness can mean so many different things but it is certainly beyond exercising and what you eat. From your friendships, relationships, drinking behavior, what you eat, how often you exercise, how you talk to yourself, your job, your schooling, etc. All of these things impact your well-being and it’s important to recognize the role each of these parts play in the quality of your life, but especially how you treat yourself. So think about how you currently treat yourself and what you can be doing do love yourself more by means of your well-being.
