Vision boards are a powerful tool that you can use at any point in your day. These are also a great way to remind yourself who you are and what you are striving for in your life. If you have never created a vision board before, a great place to start is by writing yourself a letter or just documenting somewhere a list of everything you want. Do you want to develop more confidence, land a higher paying job, or attract the partner of your dreams?
Whatever it is, just make sure that it comes from your heart and is meaningful to you. If you write down that you want a mansion, but deep down you don’t feel it will bring you true happiness, then how is that vision supposed to turn into a reality? Think about things that mean something to you, that will impact your well-being positively.
It’s important to remember that whatever you put onto your vision board can’t just be left on your vision board-meaning, you have to take action that demonstrates you are ready to have those things. For example, if you put something that has to do with developing more confidence on your vision board, but you don’t actually take action that will help build that, then how will your confidence ever grow? Instead, you could try enrolling yourself in a public speaking class or taking the lead on a project at work. Really, anything that you know will help you in creating that identity of being confident.
Additionally, you have to do things that will help you feel the emotion you perceive to feel with whatever you throw onto your vision board. Going back to the confidence example. In order to achieve confidence, you have to feel it. I know that sounds simple and it’s because it is…If you want to create more of this feeling in your life, find ways that you can feel it as often as possible. Maybe there’s a particular outfit you have that makes you feel good about yourself or maybe you’re a pro when it comes to a specific skill, and you can teach that to others.
The point is, don’t just let your vision sit on your board. You have to find ways to turn them into a reality, otherwise they will sit on your wall for as long as you have it in front of you.
Absolutely do not forget that you have to believe. It may sound cheesy or even cliche, but if you don’t believe in your dreams, goals, and vision, how on earth is anything ever going to happen for you? It is essential to believe you are worthy of the life you envision for yourself. It is a must to be courageous and say “yes” to taking action that’s going to get you there.
So think about what you envision when it comes to your well-being, your happiness, and overall quality of life. Use this information to find quotes, pictures (really anything) that remind you of what you envision. You can even draw some of this stuff and hang it up where you will be reminded of the life you are creating for yourself. Make sure to place your vision board in a place where you will see it often, if not every day.
And don’t forget to let go. Have faith in the process and trust that by taking action, you are already living in the reality of your dreams.
